This weekend (19-20 March 2016) Britain's top para riders will kick this Paralympic year off with a bang with the first major competition of the para calendar. The Nirvana Spa Para Winter championships returns to Vale View in Leicestershire for the second year seeing the best Open and Restricted combinations in the country vying for top placings and coveted championship titles.
Saturday features warm up classes for the restricted riders to prepare themselves for their Nirvana Spa championships classes later on that day. There will also be Qualifiers for our revamped KBIS Championships, which will reward riders gaining their qualifying points with a place at the KBIS Semi-Finals at Wellington Premier League on 8th June. If all that wasn't enough there will be a freestyle finale to cap the day off seeing a mixture of grades from across Open and Restricted sections.
Sunday is the turn of the Open riders battling it out for the chance to become Nirvana Spa Winter Champion. There is sure to be some hot competition and closely fought contests. This will be a good run for the combinations going to Deauville CPEDI3* in April and a great chance for those Rio hopefuls to show us what they've got.
All in all a truly inspirational weekend of dressage and a rare opportunity to see this much talent, grit and determination in one place. Classes run from 9.00 each day there is a great catering and indoor viewing. See the Vale View Equestrian website for the full start list.
