Proceedings got underway this Wednesday (6 March) as Myerscough College hosted it’s Premier League Show, with classes up to Grand Prix running through until Sunday (10 March).
Riders started the show off with the Advanced Medium 98 Open and Restricted classes, and the top spots were taken by Maisie Scruton with Hot Chocolate (68.68%), and Terri Graham on Ten O’May (65.92%) respectively. Terri and Ten O’May also won the next class – Advanced 102 Open, on 64.22%.
Myerscough is turning out to be a lucky charm for Terri and her home-bred 12 year old chestnut mare, who have so far this year managed to rack up four firsts at the North West region venue – one of those being the AM Restricted Winter Regional Championship just a couple of weeks ago.
Becky Moody and Eaimbry Eleanora started Thursday off with a winning score of 8.10 in the Potential Interantional 4 year old class, followed by a double win for Anne-Marie Perry and her 17hh mare Feine Dame 52 in the PSG and Inter I classes.
Today see’s pairings contesting the Potential International 5 year old class, followed by a truly jam packed PSG full of well-known names and combinations - including Emile Faurie who rides twice, first with Caroline Sayner’s nine year old gelding, Habanero and then on Smash Hit,a 10 year old stallion owned by Julie Bradley.
Anybody looking for an entertaining way to spend the weekend should be packing up the tent, sandwiches and picnic blankets and making their way to Myerscough as Saturday will be host to six classes; Young Rider Team, Inter I, Inter II, PSG FSM, Inter I FSM and GP FSM, followed by Pony Team, Grand Prix and Junior on Sunday.
Olympic rider Richard Davison (pictured) makes a return to the scene following the sale of his prolific ride Hiscox Artemis to Swiss Under 25 rider Phinie von Bremen earlier this year.
Richard will contest in the Grand Prix on Sunday riding the 12 year old Holstein gelding Hiscox Aliano, who has already shown much promise at Small Tour under his wife, Gillian Davison.
