Equestrian Festival for Students launched

Student Equestrian in conjunction with British Dressage, British Eventing and British Showjumping, are pleased to announce the launch of a new Festival for students with a full schedule of events in all three Olympic disciplines at Hartpury College on 11th -13th June 2013.

The equestrian arm of British University and Colleges Sports (BUCS), Student Equestrian has extended its range of competition opportunities to provide competition opportunity to those students who have their own horse or have access to a horse. With the three Olympic disciplines providing the necessary competition network the festival is aimed at complimenting the already existing Student Nations Cup series which takes place on borrowed horses.

At the Student Equestrian Festival*, Dressage enthusiasts will have the choice of BD Prelim, Novice, Elementary and Medium Championships to aim for whilst budding Eventers can qualify to ride in BE80, BE90, BE100 & Novice level Championships. Future stars of the Showjumping stage can get a flavour of the Championships at 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, 1m and 1.10m classes; full information on qualifying for the 2013 Championships is available on www.studentequestrian.co.uk

Hannah Westroppfrom BUCS said: “Last year was a really inspiring time for young equestrians so to have a Championship with the three Olympic Equestrian disciplines is extremely exciting as well as very timely. The venue lends itself excellently to a Festival of this nature and will be a fantastic boost to the equestrian calendar.”
