Three British riders have travelled to central France to compete at Pompadour CDI3*, 27-29 June: Judy Harvey and Kay Maxted in the big tour, and Beverley Brightman, who has two rides at small tour.
Judy rides long-time partner Fitzcerraldo (pictured), Richard Heley’s 16-year-old Feuerbrand-sired gelding. Kay rides Privaldi, her 17-year-old KWPN son of Gribaldi. These experienced combinations both reached two top-five places at this show here last year - an achievement they’ll be eager to emulate.
Beverley Brightman will compete in the small tour divisions with Hexagons Platina Van Lange Weeren, her 17-year-old mare by Havidoff, and Gutsherr II, her 14-year-old Trakehner son of Oxford. This will be the third cross-channel trip this year for Beverley and her horses as she campaigned both at Barcelona and Nice CDIs.

The three Brits then make the short, 150 mile trip north for Vierzon CDI3*, 4-6 July, where they’ll be joined by Hertfordshire rider Lucy Fallen (23) with her two small tour horses and 14-year-old Pony rider Angus Corrie-Deane who’ll compete in the CDIP. Lucy rides Nurejev, a 19-year-old KWPN gelding by Wolfgang, and Cruise, a 10-year-old gelding by Lauries Crusador – both owned by Adele Rawlinson. Angus rides Grayswood Orlando, his 13-year-old British-bred gelding, the pony he partnered at Roosendaal CDIP in the Netherlands last month.
