Riders announced for this year's BD Convention

In a slight change to format, the supporting riders will be different on each day at this year's National Convention supported by the National Saddle Centre at Hartpury College (23 - 24 November).  A selection of ages, abilities and levels have been selected to give Adelinde a great variety of combinations to teach and discuss.

Saturday 23rd November

10.00 Welcome

10.15 Adelinde Cornelissen

11.00 Damian Hallam riding Douglas Hibbert, Leslie Kay and his own Serupgards Salut. Danish bred by Sam Sam, Serupgards Salut contested the Albion Open Medium Championships this spring with Damian where they were just out of the top ten after winning their Regional.

11.45 Alice Peternell riding Debra Goessens’ Supreme. Supreme flies the British-bred flag being by Surprise II and registered with the Anglo-European Studbook. The combination was third at the National Championships this year in the Stretch & Flex Elementary Open Championships and has qualified for winter regional at Medium level.

14.00 Presentations

14.15 Charlotte Fry riding Rosemary Shewen’s Z Flemmenco. KWPN-registered Z Flemmenco is by the prolific sire Flemmingh and with Charlotte contested the Suregrow Advanced Medium Open and Dressage Deluxe Medium Open Championships at the Nationals.

15.00 Dan Greenwood riding Clare Poole’s Lennox. Dan has produced the Londonderry-sire Lennox from a four year old and the combination was in the Fairfax Prix St Georges and Saracen Feeds Inter I Championships at the Nationals. They also rode in the inaugural Mount St John Future Elite class at Horse of the Year Show for top horses aged 6 – 10.

15.45 Spencer Wilton riding Jennifer Goodman’s Goodmans Supernova. Our reigning Fairfax Prix St George national champion, ‘Neville’ is British-bred by De Niro and was also amongst the horses in the Mount St John Future Elite class at Horse of the Year Show.

11.00 Alysia Matravers riding Denise Kersley’s Tiger Tim. Traditional cob ‘Timmy’ has captured many hearts this season in proving you don’t need a flashy horse to do dressage. British-bred by Bashful Bobby Dancer, the stallion is our reigning Dodson & Horrell Novice Restricted National Champion and has won three Petplan Area Festival titles this autumn.

11.45 Zoe Sleigh riding Christine Sleigh’s Bequia. A German-bred stallion by Belissimo M, Bequia has been produced by Zoe over the last two years and was in two Championships at this year’s Nationals, the Stretch & Flex Elementary Open and the Dressage Deluxe Medium Open.

14.00 Presentations

14.15 Matt Hicks riding Anne Keen’s Don Carissimo. Don Crusader-sired Don Carissimo has been with Matt for two seasons. Together they were runners up in the Dressage Deluxe Medium Open Championships in September.

15.00 Becky Moody riding her own Carinsio. At just six, it’s clear this Painted Black gelding has a successful dressage CV. In 2012, he was crowned supreme Shearwater Potential International Dressage horse champion while this year, he’s been runner up in both the Shearwater Young Dressage horse and Stretch & Flex Elementary Open championships. 15.45 Matt Frost riding Dedi Leech’s AMD Don Rosso II. Standing 18hh and just eight, ‘Donald’, by Dr Doolitte, has already contested two National and one Winter championships. This year he won both his Regionals at PSG and Advanced Medium. He was fourth in the Suregrow Advanced Medium Open championships and just out of the top 15 in the Fairfax PSG.

All members attending on Saturday are welcome to join us in the Arena Restaurant 15 minutes after the end of proceedings for a Members' Meeting where Chairman Penny Pollard and a number of Board Directors, plus CEO Amanda Bond and some of her management team, will be available.
