SHOW POSTPONED DUE TO SNOW - NEW DATE ANNOUNCED SOON

Competitors from across the country are gearing up for their first major fixture after Christmas as the entry lists have been announced for the annual Addington Manor EC High Profile show.

Running from 18 – 20 January, riders will descend upon the Buckinghamshire venue contesting classes from medium to grand prix level.

It was here two years ago that Britain’s double gold combination of Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro made their Grand Prix debut and we all know what they’ve gone on to – could this year’s show discover some new names?

While the starter list makes excellent reading, with a solid line up across the board, nothing quite beats the news that Charlotte Dujardin is entered with her trainer and mentor Carl Hester’s Olympic horse Uthopia.

Along with Charlotte, Carl will be there with Aram Gregory’s 11 year old giant, Dances with Wolves, for their eagerly awaited grand prix debut. Carl alluded to the fact that ‘Golly’ might soon be ready to be campaigned at grand prix back in November whilst hosting the National Convention, and fans are sure to be watching the pair closely with minds firmly set on Rio 2016.

Completing the gold medallist line up will be Laura Bechtolsheimer, who will be riding her homebred and produced Polar Bear in the Advanced Medium class – another pair who are spoken about with Rio 2016 in mind. The combination is current national champion at this level and has never been beaten in competition so they are ones to watch.

Laura gets the show off to a great start with an evening demo on Thursday 17 at 7pm and there’s still tickets available – more information below.

Whilst the news of Charlotte and Uthopia is bound to at the forefront of everybody’s minds other notable entries include:

>From the ‘Hester’ camp, Carl will also be riding Fine Time IV in the grand prix for an expecting Gemma Appleton, along with Samantha Thurman Baker riding the 11 year old Danish Warmblood Douglas IV in the PSG
>Following the disappointment of withdrawal at Olympia back in December, Dan Sheriff will be back competing on Bayford Hall Dallaglio in the grand prix
>Francis Whittington, British Eventing Olympic Team reserve, will be competing two of his horses in both the Medium and Advanced Medium classes – perhaps proving the efficacy of cross discipline competition as a training tool
>Olivia Oakley, who has recently been announced as securing a place on the World Class Development Programme, is to compete in the PSG on her Dimaggio-sired gelding Donna Summer
>This year’s first high profile show seems to have turned into a ‘family affair’ with plenty of entries that are bound to cause some relative rivalry including; the Hutton siblings Pippa and Charlie, father and daughter Paul and Bobby Hayler, and sisters Libby and Olivia Towers
