Emile Faurie and Tom Goode (pictured) took the top two places in the Grand Prix at Vale Vew High Profile Show (26 – 28 October 2017).
Emile and the impressive black Delatio, on only their second competitive outing, were pronounced unanimous winners of the Grand Prix winning the competitive class by a near four percent margin. Elena Knyaginicheva’s Delatio (De Niro x Rubinstein), now 13 years, is a highly proven breeding stallion formerly competed to Grand Prix by Bianca Kasselmann of the renowned Hof Kasselmann stable where Emile is Stable Manager.
Another Faurie protégé impressed to take second - Dior III, ridden by Emile’s stable rider, Tom Goode. This was all the remarkable as it was the young stallion’s Grand Prix debut. Owned by Samantha Geddes, the nine-year-old Gribaldi son certainly looks to be another jewel in the Heath Farm crown!
“We had our first indoor show of the year at Vale View where I rode the brilliant Delatio and Tom the brilliant Dior,” said Emile via Facebook. “Delatio won with 74% and Dior came second with 70% in his first grown up Grand Prix. So all in all a happy Heath Farm team and all our owners and sponsors! Thank you to them all.”
Another combination to watch is World Class Podium Potential rider Sonnar Murray-Brown with Erlentanz who breached the 70% barrier on only their third Grand Prix, finishing fourth behind Katherine Bateson and Alcazar (70.40%).
Amateur rider Claire Abel was victorious in Friday’s Inter I with a super score of 69.56%. Claire who runs her own accountancy business, AccountAbel, is based in Buckinghamshire and trains with Lisa Hopkins. Her partner Rowan Magic, who’s affectionately known as ‘Roo’, is Dutch-bred gelding by ROH Magic. Now thirteen-years-old, Roo has been brought up through the levels from a novice by Claire, all the way through to representing Great Britain at Saumur CDI last year where they achieved three top-five placings.
“[A] fabulous return to competition for Roo at Vale View High Profile Show,” said Claire. “Yesterday we were a bit ring rusty and came second in the Inter I, but significantly upped our game to win today’s Inter I class just shy of 70%. He really is my horse of a lifetime as well as the kindest, most gentle horse to look after.
“Big thanks to Julia Marron for keeping me sane and her fantastic support...we won’t mention that my test reduced you to tears, and to Lisa Hopkins for her patient training to get us back in the game.”
