After a four year absence, the Coaches Forum is back and, with a line up featuring some of Britain’s top riders and trainers, it’s bigger and better than ever! Previously known as the Trainers Forum, the day returns to the bustling BD training calendar with a star-studded line up. Hosts Becky Moody, Paul Fielder, Isobel Wessels, Maria Eilberg and Sophie Wells will take you through ‘360 Degrees of Coaching’ at Bury Farm, Buckinghamshire on Tuesday 26 September 2017, answering many of the questions dressage trainers face daily.
Becky Moody is an international rider and UKCC level 2 coach from South Yorkshire, who was recently crowned Blue Chip Novice Gold champion with Heavenly Kiss at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships. Becky has been enjoying success with her top horse Carinsio at Grand Prix, and together stand as current Monarch Equestrian Inter II Gold National Champions.
World-renowned trainer, Paul Fielder, has successfully helped to develop the dressage careers of many young riders making him a much sought after trainer and mentor. Previously a chief instructor at the Catherston Stud, Paul is a Fellow of the British Horse Society and in recent years he has focused on training Norwegian riders. His long term pupil Siril Helljesen competed at the London Olympics.
Isobel Wessels is a List 1 judge and a UKCC Level 3 accredited coach. In 2007, Isobel reached the ultimate level of dressage judging in becoming an FEI 5* Judge, combining her judging commitments with training her many students. Isobel competes at the highest level with her horse, Chagall, taking a year out from judging to make their international debut in 2016.
Having experienced great success at under 21 level, Maria Eilberg was a member of the Pony, Junior, and Young Rider European teams from 1998‐2005, winning four medals. She was British Under‐21 Champion in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003. Now a senior international rider, Maria has enjoyed further success including her first World Equestrian Games in 2010 where she impressed by taking her place on the silver medal winning team. Maria is also a List 2 judge and a UKCC Level 3 accredited coach.
One of Team GB’s most successful Paralympic riders at the age of 27, Sophie Wells is part of our reigning Paralympic, World and European champion dressage team, and has won fourteen Championship gold medals with horses, Pinocchio, Valerius and C Fatal Attraction. She has also ridden as an able-bodied athlete at the Young Rider European Dressage Championships and at Grand Prix. She regularly coaches all levels of rider including up and coming international para riders Natasha Adkinson and Izzy Palmer.
This event counts as CPD for BD Coaches and Trainers and BHS Accredited Professional Coaches. Though the event is aimed at coaches, the forum is beneficial for riders, owners, judges and non- members alike. Further timetable updates coming soon.
