After a hugely successful first year culminating in an exciting championship final at Keysoe EC (17 October 2015), British Dressage is proud to welcome the Traditional Gypsy Cob Championships back for a second year – with the introduction of part-breds!
In conjunction with the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA), this feather-filled series will cover Intro, Prelim, Novice and Elementary levels with the championship final taking place at Solihull Riding Club, West Midlands on 29 October 2016.
Open to existing British Dressage members, or non-BD members who have a cob registered with the TGCA, those taking part must be a minimum of a BD Associate member (depending on the level, click here for more details) on an Associate registered horse. All horses taking part must also be associate registered with the TGCA.
Current TGCA members wishing to qualify at Prelim – Elementary can claim two free class tickets from BD to help kick start qualification. To claim your tickets, click here to email the office. Please note: to use your class ticket, you and your horse must be Associate members of BD, which is free to do.
New for 2016, the TGCA is thrilled to announce its new Traditional Gypsy Cob Part-Bred Register, enabling part-bred gypsy cobs to compete in the series. For more details on the part-bred sections, click here.
To qualify for the championships, horse and rider combinations must achieve two scores of 60% or more in the Bronze or Silver section at their chosen/eligible level between 1 January and 30 September 2016 at BD or Quest competitions. Once you’ve got your qualifying scores, send an email or letter to Karen Beaumont at British Dressage stating where and when you achieved them. Karen will then process the results and you will receive your invitation to the final after the qualifying period has ended.
