19-year-old Charlotte Fry made her U25 international debut on a brand new horse and celebrated with two wins at Roosendaal’s CDI4*, the Netherlands (2 – 6 December 2016).

Piloting Anne van Olst’s 17-year-old Carpaccio-sired gelding, Exquis Clearwater, Charlotte devoured the competition claiming both the U25 Inter II and U25 Grand Prix with 69.25% and 71.44% respectively. The dynamic duo also claimed fourth in their first ever U25 freestyle on 71.50% - with two judges placing them first. A fantastic achievement for the teenager, who is currently based in Holland with Anne, Charlotte took to her Facebook page to exclaim her delight:

‘Having an amaaaaazing time at Roosendaal CDI with the incredible Clearwater winning both the U25 inter 2 and the U25 Grand Prix, never been so excited in my life.’

Although making her first appearance as an U25s competitor, paving a path to her future; with two years left as a Young Rider, Charlotte also remained focused on the present, contesting in the Young Rider classes with new ride, Van Olst Horses’ nine-year-old Dutch warmblood mare, Black Pearl. Climbing the places as the competition went on, the pair finished eighth in the Young Rider Freestyle with a solid 68.16%.

After a solid stint in France at Le Mans CDI back in October, Dan Sherriff and Litta Sohi’s ten-year-old Parcival-sired, Air FK continued to gain experience in the Small Tour classes at Roosendaal – the gelding’s second ever international. A quiet start in the first class, the PSG, with 62.63%, the pair settled into life in the Netherlands and grew in confidence to shoot up the placings in the PSG Freestyle, scoring 69.17% claiming sixth.

In just their fourth competition as a combination, Richard Davison and Gwen Meyer’s nine-year-old British-bred gelding, Bubblingh impressed in the Grand Prix, stealing eighth with 67.94%, their best score to date. Richard also contested in the horse’s first ever Grand Prix Special, achieving a very respectable 66.86%.

The pony riders were also out in force at Roosendaal, Ottilie Bardsley, Lara Kuropatwa and Philippa Kearns showed their potential with some good scores to end 2015; lots to look forward to for 2016!
