British Dressage is excited to announce the new dates for the BYRDS Symposium: Two athletes, one performance (Saturday 19 March 2016). A brand new event in 2016 for the under 25s, the day-long symposium is a must for all BYRDS riders (and parents!) who want to gain a competitive edge and maximise performance.
Kindly supported by Ashbrook Equine Hospital and held at Reaseheath College in Cheshire, the symposium will cover many vital aspects of equestrian performance from both the horse and rider perspective, alongside dedicated sessions for parents/guardians on how to support and nurture talent. Confirmed speakers for the day include experts in the fields of veterinary science, coaching, farriery, physiotherapy and psychology.
BYRDS director, Janet Horswill commented on how the BYRDS Symposium came to fruition: “The idea for this actually came from the BYRDS members themselves via feedback from riders at various events such as members meetings at the U25 championships and from those who had attended specific events such as the YPA workshop.”
“The feedback we received was that our BYRDS riders wanted an event that was designed for them,” continued Janet. “They wanted their own seminar where they could feel confident to ask questions of the presenters and share their thoughts with other BYRDS riders.”
The price of the BYRDS Symposium is £20 for members and £25 for non-members. Tickets are available from the BD Shop or by sending a cheque payable to British Dressage to the BYRDS department, British Dressage, Meriden Business Park, Copse Drive, Meriden, West Midlands CV5 9RG.
