Addington to host dressage superstars

Star combinations up and down the country are preparing for this week’s annual Addington CDI3* in Buckinghamshire (20 – 22 Mar 2015). GBR lead the way in entries across the senior, pony, junior, young rider and U25s classes with 54 riders and 62 horses.

A great opportunity to watch top flight dressage on home soil with spectators guaranteed to see some of the brightest, upcoming stars in British dressage, it’s a must-see event for all.

Alongside the British CDI, Addington will also run a set of national classes which will take place in their outdoor arenas.

Addington Manor Equestrian Centre is delighted to be welcoming competitors from around the World to compete at the International Dressage. With classes for Pony, Junior and Young Riders being held during the day and Senior International Grand Prix in the evenings. The Pony riders are strong this year with Phoebe Peters (SL Lucci) in her final year of this age group aiming for another individual gold medal. The Under 21 classes will enjoy the company of visitors from Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Australia.

This year for the first time there will be a special class for Under 25 riders at Grand prix level (Thursday evening) and a freestyle for Under 25s on Friday evening before the senior Grand Prix. This class will show case the developing depth and talent of our young riders with Olivia Oakeley and Ryan Todd (both Under 21 Young rider European team members from last year competing and Sophie Wells multi medallist of Paralympic Olympic World and European level at Para Grade 4 competing. |In the senior classes we welcome overseas riders from Finland, Denmark and the USA as well as our own British stars in the form of Nikki Crisp with her evergreen partner ‘Passoa’, Hannah Biggs, Dan Sherriff and Steph Croxford with her new Grand prix partner Mr.Hyde.

Gala Evenings on the Friday 20th and Saturday 21st. Addington’s Gallery Restaurant will be open for both Gala Evenings, for you to watch in style. Tables are available Carvery Meal £20 for Adults and £10 for Children (under 12) on both the Friday and Saturday evenings. One of our newest supporters from Holland ‘Mooi en Lief’ (look out for their ‘designer wellies’ on sale) and European Vogue will be giving a prize on the Saturday night for the best dressed lady in the hospitality restaurant, so smart casual will be the order of the day!

On Saturday night after the freestyle, there will be the added spectacle of a number of top class young dressage horses being presented for auction by Richard Botterill of Brightwells. Do stay and watch the horses of the future come under the hammer and perhaps treat yourself to a future champion!

We have some great trade stands on site and all our supporters both trade and private are so much appreciated.  Spectators are welcome over all three days of the Show. Please come and support our riders and the trade stands and enjoy some great dressage at all levels.
