Competition has kicked off in France today for the Vidauban CDI3*, taking place 4-8 March 2015.

Three riders have made the journey across the channel to represent Great Britain and have already got off to a flying start. 25-year-old Alice Oppenheimer stormed the first class of the competition, the PSG for 7-9 year old horses, to top the leader board. Riding Georgina Pole-Carew’s 8-year-old Sir Donnerhall stallion, Tantoni Sir Soccrates, she scored an impressive 70.73% to claim first place. Alice has also travelled Sarah Oppenheimer’s 12-year-old Dimaggio gelding, Headmore Delegate (pictured), to compete in the big tour classes.

Another rider set to ride today is Daniel Watson. Competing in the inter II, their first class of the competition, Daniel will be riding Nicola Naylor’s ten year old Sandro Hit gelding, Amadeus VI. Similar to Alice, Dan will also be contesting in the big tour classes with Susie Farnon’s 15-year-old gelding, Fideramber. Vidauban CDI3* marks both Amadeus and Fideramber’s first competition of 2015.

Anna Ross makes up GBR’s third and final representative at the French competition. Also having brought two horses, Anna will be riding Jane Sewell’s 14-year-old De Niro mare, Die Callas in the big tour classes and Renata Rabello Costa’s 12-year-old gelding, Lord of Rock – who is set to compete today in the intermediate A.
