BD vacancy: Pony Selector

BD are currently seeking a new voluntary Pony Selector to join the panel who oversee the selection of combinations to represent Great Britain at FEI competitions, including the annual European Championships. 

Role description:

The role is to work with the Chief Pony Selector and other appointed Selectors in order to develop Squads and select individual rider / pony combinations or teams of rider / pony combinations to represent Great Britain at the FEI competitions in line with the Pony Selection Policy. U21 Selectors report directly to their relevant Chief Selector and the Director of International Teams.

The role, which is voluntary, although travel and accommodation expenses are paid (as per the BD Chef d’Equipe Expenses policy), includes attending an annual viewing day to select riders for the Pony Prime and Progress Squads and subsequent training days; monitoring training throughout the winter months and results during the year. It also involves periods of time away from home to attend training sessions, national and international competitions.

The small team of Pony Selectors work closely together and liaise with the Chef d’Equipe and Team Trainer.

All Under 21 officials are required to have knowledge of the British Dressage and BEF Safeguarding Children policies and will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and attend an Equine Safeguarding course.
