South West region seeks marketing representative

Are you experienced in marketing? Would you like to put something back in to the sport you love whilst expanding your own CV and experience? The British Dressage South West is looking for a marketing representative for their regional committee.

A fantastic voluntary position, you will have the opportunity to attend regional activities (expenses paid), work with other marketing representatives across the different regions and attend meetings with those from all areas of dressage.

The role involves:-

  • Support the Regional Development Officer in developing high quality marketing materials for the region including email newsletters, posters, banners etc.
  • Ensure regional marketing materials represents the BD brand – you will be BD’s brand champion in the field
  • Help keep regional web pages and social media sites up to date
  • Represent marketing on the Regional Committee and share responsibility for BD’s marketing activities with the rest of the Regional Committee
  • Take and implement a brief from the BD Marketing Committee to ensure consistency within the region
  • Give input from your regional perspective into the BD Marketing Committee
  • Write press releases for upcoming events and develop a relationship with local equestrian press.

You will need some relevant skills, experience and attributes such as:-

  • Some marketing/copywriting/design skills
  • Attention to detail and brand guidelines
  • Willing to be ‘hands on’ – the role is varied and will include some mundane tasks
  • Great team worker – you’ll be part of a team in your region and part of the wider team of BD
  • Computer literacy (and access to a computer) – most communication is by email
  • Masses of enthusiasm for marketing and the sport of dressage
  • Enough time available

The South West region covers Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Channel Islands
