The inaugural Carrington Group PSG & Inter I series came to its conclusion with a championship held at Cockshot Dressage on 12 October. Riders Claire Dutton from Merseyside and Darcas Lever from Cheshire reigned supreme in this prestigious new championship winning the Prix St Georges and Intermediate I respectively.

Claire, 31, rode Sinclair’s Symphony, her 15-year-old son of Lord Sinclair to victory in the Prix St Georges with a score of 67.11%, whilst Darcas (23) riding her own and Iain Holt’s Valentijn WG (pictured), secured the Intermediate I with a resounding 70.92%.

The series, sponsored by UK accountants, Carrington Group, has been running from April with qualifying events being held at Cockshot Dressage and Tushingham Arena. The finals were judged by Helen Bradley and Judith Harris, and both events were hotly contested.

On top of subsidising entry fees for the series, the Carrington Group also provided a generous prize fund of £900 for both classes at the final, an engraved trophy, rosettes and sash, plus prizes in kind. All competitors also received a stable door plaque donated by Cockshot Dressage.

Lou Jones, Regional Development Officer for the North West region said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Nicky Owen from the Carrington Group for the very generous sponsorship deal. All the riders had a fabulous day and we’re very grateful to Carrington for this opportunity.”

The Carrington Group, Cockshot Dressage and Tushingham Arena specifically selected PSG and Intermediate I levels, to give riders another big show to work towards.
