The superstars did it yet again, 29-year-old Charlotte Dujardin and her equine counterpart, Valegro, bag their second test win and first gold medal of the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in the grand prix special with a whopping 86.120%.
The British giants’ score also smashes the WEG record, held by Dutch rider Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas, of 85.708%. Today’s success also means that the duo are through to the GP freestyle – which will take place on Friday (29 August).
Team GBR riders Carl Hester and Michael Eilberg also had a triumphant day as they finished 12th and 13th, respectively, also qualifying through to Friday’s freestyle.
