Competition is currently underway in Arezzo, Italy for the Junior and Young Rider European Championships (9 – 13 July). Based in Italy since Friday to allow the riders and horses to acclimatise, the Juniors stormed out of the starting blocks with Jessica Gale and her own 13-year-old Jazz gelding, Umbro S, scoring 67.02%. 17-year-old Maisie Scruton also gained 68.56% on her own Sandro Hit mare, Hot Chocolate 43, putting Team GBR into sixth on the Junior leader board with Charlotte Fry and Erin Williams to compete tomorrow (10 July).
The Young Riders also begin their quest to the medal podium today with Gaby Lucas and Jessica Knapton set to ride this afternoon.
