Are you interested in becoming a BD steward or an existing steward looking for CPD opportunities? BD is holding four training days which may be of interest to you!
Saturday 2nd August – Bishop Burton College, East Yorks
Saturday 13th September – Myerscough College, Lancs
Saturday 27th September – Hartpury College, Glos
Saturday 11th October – Berkshire College, Berks
At each session, the morning features an introduction to stewarding course which forms part of the entry requirements to becoming a BD listed steward. It is also an opportunity for those who are currently working towards their BD stewards status and those who are interested in stewarding to start off their education with a view to becoming a steward at a later date.
The Intro course consists of theory sessions on rules and regulations, identifying and dealing with bad/ inappropriate riding, conduct and discipline plus tack and equipment checking.
The afternoon is a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course for listed stewards and those attending the morning that wish to stay on. The main theme of the CDP session is building a stewarding team and effective allocation of duties but will also cover off any current welfare topics.
