Carl Hester MBE and Charlotte Dujardin OBE have been delighting viewers of Horse & Country TV since 2009. From Charlotte’s early days as a riding pupil at Carl’s yard, the channel has followed the journey of these dressage superstars through a series of shows, charting their successes at the BD National Championships, Horses & Dreams in Hagen, at the London 2012 Olympics and the European Dressage Championships in Herning last year. Now, in a new departure, H&C is proud to present its first ever live event, “An Evening With” this pair of equestrian legends and Olympic gold medallists. The evening will be hosted by H&C Presenter, Jenny Rudall, who will interview Carl and Charlotte in front of a live audience about their journey together from Charlotte’s arrival at Carl’s yard to their Olympic successes and beyond.
Other topics to be discussed include Carl’s childhood on Sark, the horses that have touched their lives such as Valegro, Uthopia and Liebling, competing at the Europeans in 2013 and their plans looking forward to WEG and Rio in 2016.
Celebrity guests will be on hand in the audience and Jenny will take questions to keep Carl and Charlotte on their toes. After the event Carl and Charlotte will sign autographs in the foyer. The evening will be filmed for future broadcast on H&C TV.
“An Evening with Carl and Charlotte” takes place at the Bacon Theatre, Dean Close School in Cheltenham on Thursday 3rd April at 7.30pm. Tickets are available to the public at the price of £20 for adults and £10 for Under 18s. To purchase tickets go to www.bacontheatre.co.uk
Jonathan Rippon, Head of Programming for H&C TV, said of the event: “We are thrilled to be hosting ‘An Evening with Carl and Charlotte’. It will be a fantastic opportunity for our viewers to hear directly from these equestrian idols and we hope this will be the first of many such ‘Evenings With’ that H&C will present in the future.”
