The welcome return of Combined Training to the British Dressage calendar proved a great success in 2016, with combinations up and down the country jumping into action to take part in the series. We’re now pleased to confirm the details of the upcoming season of the dressage and jumping competition and proud to announce saddle manufacturers Ideal Saddles as the series sponsor.
Open to existing members of British Dressage, British Showjumping, British Eventing, Pony Club and Riding Club or, if you’re yet to join, you can get involved by simply joining BD as a Club member for just £30! Perfect for eventers looking to perfect their skills over the winter period.
The dressage element will run once again at Prelim and Novice levels with short arena tests and the show jumping from 70cm to one metre at qualifiers starting in October and culminating in February 2018.
New sponsor, Ideal Saddles are providing special rosettes for the top two in each section at the 21 qualifiers, as their ‘qualification ticket’ to a National Championship Final held in March, and are thrilled to be supporting the series.
“Ideal & WRS have been looking for a while for the right partnership opportunity,” commented James Hitchen of Ideal Saddles, “With the British Dressage Combined Training Series we feel that this is the perfect fit for the Ideal & WRS brand.”
Rob Lugsdin, Managing Director of Ideal Saddles added; “We are excited to be able to partner with British Dressage as title sponsor for the Combined Training Series.”
Ideal & WRS are market leaders in the manufacture of traditionally made leather saddles - all of which are manufactured across its two manufacturing sites in Walsall. Ideal’s brand ambassadors include 2017 National Dressage Champion Hayley Watson-Greaves as well as ten-time Paralympic Gold Medallist Sir Lee Pearson.
BD Sports Operations Manager Amanda Heath commented; “The series was a great success last year so we are thrilled for it to return for the 2017/18 season. We are also delighted to welcome Ideal Saddles as a new sponsor to British Dressage, they are perfectly partnered with the Combined Training series and we hope competitors of all the member bodies will take up this fantastic opportunity to compete in Combined Training classes at an affiliated level.”
