We’re excited to welcome British dressage star Emile Faurie as host of two master classes during the NAF Five Star Winter Championships at Hartpury College, Glos. Emile will take to the floor to present a demonstration during each of the evening gala performances on Friday 14 April and Saturday 15 April 2017.

South African-born Emile is one of the UK’s top international riders and has represented Great Britain at World, European and Olympic level winning Individual Bronze and Team Silver at the 1993 Europeans and Team Bronze at the European Championships ten years on.

Emile has been passionate about horses and dressage for as long as he can remember. After moving to England in 1980 and with his heart set on dressage, he spent three years as a working pupil at Talland. A spell in Germany followed, where he worked at Performance Sales International (PSI) gaining great skill in how to recognise a good young horse. He’s since trained with a number of ‘greats’ including Klaus Balkenhol, Conrad Schumacher and the late Herbert Rehbein, giving him an excellent eye for how to bring on a horse and rider as a happy team.

Well known for his achievements with star rides Virtu, Legrini and Rascher Hopes, Emile is enjoying a return to the limelight with Hof Kasselmann’s Welt Hit II son, Weekend Fun, with whom he achieved a sensational fourth place at Olympia CDI-W last year.

As passionate about helping others as he is with his own competition career, Emile’s two 30-minute master classes promise a fascinating insight into his training ethos and will give the audience plenty of tips to take home.

Competition-wise, the headline classes for the gala performances are the Magic Prix St Georges Freestyle on Friday and the Superflex Intermediate I Freestyle on Saturday. Doors open at 6.20pm each night, competition kicks off at 7pm.
