A British contingent of pony, junior and young riders is enroute to Moorsele to contest CDI youth classes at the purpose built centre in Belgium (17 – 20 May).
The pony riders are:
Angus Corrie-Dean takes his new 2013 ride, Grayswood Orlando and they make their international debut. They’ve been out three times together and have some good results with 65%+ scores.
Alexandra Hellings rides Clare Williams’ exciting young German stallion, Der Kleine Lord. This is the combination’s second year together and in 2013 they’ve posted top five scores at Keysoe U25s and Addington CDIP.
Ruth Hole is in good form with Sarah Steggall’s breeding stallion Bernwode Brokat (pictured) after a good show at Roosendaal two weeks ago including 11th in the Freestyle with a 68%+ score as well as top 15 finishes at Addington CDI in April.
12 year old Lara Kuropatwa makes her first international trip with Emily Harris’ Don Joshi. At 17, he’s an experienced pony having represented Britain at the 2007 Pony Europeans with his owner but Lara is bonding well with him; in just four outings this year, they’ve never been out of the top five.
There’s just a single representative in the Junior classes but she’s on the crest of a wave having been part of the victorious Junior Nations Cup Team just two weeks ago in Saumur. Georgia Davis rides her own Richmans Manta, who’s been her partner for four years.
For the Young Rider trio, the search for a Euro Championship squad spot is firmly on the agenda. Great friends Emma Corbett and Olivia Oakeley have their chestnut duo of Furst Diamantino and Donna Summer while Charlotte Grundy rides
Just Thomas.
