Volunteer roles:
Southern Region
Regional Chairman / Chairwoman
This important role will involve leading the committee of regional representatives and working closely with the Regional Development Officer to deliver BD activity, as agreed by the technical committees. You will enable members in your region to have access to good quality training, competitions and other supporting activities to help them get the most out of their sport. The Regional Chair will also help to ensure that their members’ views and needs are represented throughout BD.
The successful candidate will need to be approachable, enthusiastic, diplomatic, responsible and professional, ideally living within the Southern Region (which includes Kent, Surrey and Sussex). An ability to support, motivate and lead the Regional Committee members is also essential.
A dressage background and prior involvement with BD (for example, as a judge, trainer, organiser, rider or owner) is required for this position. You will be supported directly by the BD Chief Executive, the RDO and the Regional Committee. The post is voluntary, but expenses to attend meetings will be paid. Download the role description.
