BD vacancy: Judges Committee rider rep

A vacancy has arisen on the British Dressage Judges Committee for an international rider representative. We’re looking for a rider with international experience, who is interested in contributing to developing judging in the UK.

The Judges Committee is a key technical committee which reports in to the Board of British Dressage. Its purpose is to oversee all matters relating to judging, and to develop and maintain a sufficient number of high quality judges.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A rider with experience of competing at international competitions
  • Experienced and knowledgeable about training dressage horses, including the scales of training
  • Enthusiastic about judging and the sport of dressage
  • Competing regularly and generally respected by your peers
  • Prepared to be a spokesperson, representing the views of riders to the committee
  • A great team worker – you’ll be part of a varied team
  • Computer literate (and has regular access to a computer) – most communications are by email
  • Keen to get involved and has enough time to commit to the role

It’s not essential that you are a listed judge, but it would be an advantage.

The post is voluntary, but expenses to attend meetings will be paid.
